Built for owners who run the work and the business.

You earned your craft in the field. Running the business asks for different skills: managing money, leading people, setting priorities. This is where we work.

If your name is on the truck and your team still waits on you for most decisions, you are the owner this practice was built for.

  • Electricians
  • Plumbers
  • Paving and hardscape contractors
  • HVAC contractors
  • Framers and carpenters
  • General contractors

What changes

What we work on

  • Job profitability

Knowing which jobs make money, which only keep the crew busy, and what the numbers say about both.

  • Pricing decisions

Setting prices from your real costs and your goals, not from what the last bid felt like.

  • Operational responsibilities

Deciding what only the owner should do, and handing the rest to people who can carry it.

  • Team accountability

Clear expectations and follow-through, so the crew does not depend on you for nearly every decision.

  • Readiness for growth

Testing whether operations can support a second crew, a second truck or a bigger job before you commit.

    Executive Strategy Partnership

Ongoing advisory sessions with Tyrone to support decisions, monitor priorities, and develop leadership judgment.

  3. Deeper attention

    Focused Business Improvement Engagements

Defined projects addressing a specific challenge: job profitability, pricing decisions, operational responsibilities, team accountability, or readiness for growth.

Questions owners ask

What is Win to Succeed?
Win to Succeed is an executive strategy practice led by Tyrone Auston, based in Los Angeles. It helps trades business owners strengthen their leadership, understand their business performance, and turn their potential into purposeful growth.
Who is it for?
Skilled operators moving into business leadership, established owners who work hard without a clear picture of profitability, contractors whose teams rely on them for nearly every decision, and leaders preparing to expand who are asking whether operations can support it.
What is the Business Clarity Assessment?
It is the entry point: a focused review of the owner’s goals and current business performance that ends with a prioritized strategic brief, so you know what matters next.
What happens after the assessment?
Owners can continue with an Executive Strategy Partnership, which is ongoing advisory sessions with Tyrone to support decisions and monitor priorities, or take on a Focused Business Improvement Engagement, a defined project on a specific issue such as job profitability, pricing, responsibilities, team accountability or readiness for growth.
Is this a good fit if I am a small crew?
It is a fit if you own the decisions and want to understand your numbers and lead more deliberately, whatever your size. Tyrone began as an apprentice and ran his own contracting company, so the conversation starts from the field, not from a textbook.
Where do you work, and how much does it cost?
The practice is based in Los Angeles and works with owners across Southern California. Scope and fees depend on the engagement, so the first step is a conversation: book a time or call, and you will leave knowing which option fits.

Start with a conversation.
